Club History

Woodton United were re-formed in the summer of 2015 for a friendly match against Halesworth Town. Officially launched by ex-Norwich City star Robert Fleck, a group of youngsters joined some older players from the village to try and overcome an experienced Halesworth side who eventually ran out 2-4 winners in front of a crowd of over two-hundred spectators.

In 2016, The Reds kicked off their first season back in competitive football by affiliating with Norfolk FA and joining the Norwich & District Sunday League. Unfortunately it was to be a very difficult start for United who were hammered almost every single game, and finished second bottom.

2017/18 Season was slightly improved, with more points collected along the way and less goals conceded but the league position slipped and Woodton finished bottom.

This season, we are looking forward to improving even further with the help of our new manager and a handful of more experienced players.

In December 2018, United are set to become Norfolk FA’s first official affiliated LGBT Inclusive club.
