With the looming deadline of new legislation coming into force in May 2018, we’re asking you to take a moment to review the new privacy policy of Woodton United.

Club History

Woodton United were re-formed in the summer of 2015 for a friendly match against Halesworth Town. Officially launched by ex-Norwich City star Robert Fleck, a group of youngsters joined some older players from the village to try and overcome an experienced Halesworth side who eventually ran out 2-4 winners in front of a crowd of over two-hundred spectators.

In 2016, The Reds kicked off their first season back in competitive football by affiliating with Norfolk FA and joining the Norwich & District Sunday League. Unfortunately it was to be a very difficult start for United who were hammered almost every single game, and finished second bottom.

2017/18 Season was slightly improved, with more points collected along the way and less goals conceded but the league position slipped and Woodton finished bottom.

United brought in experienced coach Darren Mortimer for the 2018/19 season and enjoyed a successful pre-season losing just one game all summer. Unfortunately it was the same old story for The Reds in the league as we continued to lose the majority of fixtures. There were positives however with plenty of draws, a club-record 9-0 win, and in December 2018, United became Norfolk FA’s first affiliated LGBT Inclusive Club. We finished the season above the bottom two with our record points tally. Mortimer left the club in June 2019.
